The Shepherd’s Voice

In trying to understand the Faith movement, I have found it helpful to apply Rosenius’ teaching on the voice of the Good Shepherd. Referring to John 10:4, he wrote that the voice of the Shepherd includes everything that is characteristic of Jesus as the Good Shepherd. If we know Him and His voice, we can test whether something is in keeping with the voice of Christ, the attitude of Christ, and the teachings of Christ or not. Satan and his servants can use many words that seem to fit in with what Christ has said, but when it comes to the underlying attitude, they cannot imitate Him. Rosenius concluded that even true servants of Christ may sometimes fail in their words, but the ‘voice’ itself must never be lacking.
