Genuine Christians Ensnared by Another Gospel

It is quite possible that genuine Christians can be ensnared in a system where they are compelled to live with truth being on two or several different levels. But such a system is ungodly. At root, it is another gospel than the Gospel of the New Testament. If I have to evaluate the fruits of the movement that I belonged to, I have to say that it is too bad to be considered acceptable in any way. There is a hardness that has entered in, and that is its driving force. The effect of this is that you are no longer affected by individuals being destroyed as long as the movement is going ahead. This is in no way an acceptable Christian attitude. Jesus says that you can know the tree by its fruit (Matthew 7). A tree where the fruit is unmerciful hardness is not from God.

Nevertheless, the individual person in the movement has not necessarily gone so far that they have lost their salvation and are eternally lost, even though it is another gospel that is being preached. The Galatian Christians were not eternally lost. It was possible for those who had been ensnared by a false teaching to repent. When Paul speaks to them, he calls them brethren (Galatians 3:15).

I view most of the ordinary members of the Faith movement as brothers and sisters in the Lord. They may have come to faith in Christ just like I have, and be trying to follow Him. But the system they are caught in can hardly be called Christianity, even though it contains elements of Christian doctrine. At the same time, it is so dominated by false teaching and cultic elements that a person who continues to cling on to the system will be drawn away from Jesus. This is my own experience.
